Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, Sarah Barnwell Smith is a graduate of the B.F.A. Accessory design program at the Savannah College of Art and Design.
Sarah's work focuses primarily on COLOR AND TREND design FOR FOOTWEAR, but she is also skilled in FOOTWEAR DESIGN, HANDBAG design, AND SHOEMAKING. HANDBAGS FROM SARAH'S SENIOR THESIS COLLECTION, 'SACCHARINE SPORT' HAVE BEEN FEATURED ON LARGE SCALE FASHION PUBLICATIONS SUCH AS TEEN VOGUE AND FASHIONISTA.COM.
PRIOR TO MOVING TO BOSTON, sarah designed and manufactured a women's handbag line for j. stark. SHE ALSO SPENT TIME AS an apprentice for the training footwear division of reebok. Currently, sarah is a color and trend designer I for NB SPORT footwear at new balance in boston, massachusetts.
